Quest standard rules

Each Creator Quest is a different experience, so they are subject to different rules. After running many different Creator Quests we are now able to state our standard rules for Creator Quests. These rules will apply automatically to every quest starting on or after the 17th of September 2024.

  1. Relevance

Your app must subscribe to the requirements of any of the quest's tracks.

  2. Teams

Unless explicitly stated in the Quest's rules, teams are not permitted so all submissions must be made by individuals.

  3. Originality

Any content you submit to the quest must be original code.

  4. README

Your project must have a README. Your README must clearly explain what the project does and how someone can run it or install it. Video demos are definitely helpful in helping the judges understand your project!

  5. Explanation

Please create short video to explain your project. The video should demonstrate your code in operation and showcase your project's functionality. Paste a link to this video in the submission page.

  6. Freshness

Repos submitted must be created on or after the Quest’s Start Date. We will check the created_at stamps of all submitted repos to validate this. Additionally, unless explicitly allowed you will not be able to select a repo that has already been submitted to a quest on Quira.

  7. Use of LLMs for coding

You are allowed to generate code with LLMs or to use StackOverflow, but the submission's idea must be yours and yours only. If we detect plagiarism from another repo or user, your submission will be removed from the quest.

  8. Use of LLMs for content creation

If the quest has a content track, the content you write must be your own. Pieces that are evidently generated with ChatGPT or similar tools will be disqualified.

  9. One submission

Each participant, whether competing individually or as part of a team, must be associated with only one project. Submissions should be made from GitHub accounts that you own and can verify ownership of. You should not submit more than one entry using different GitHub accounts.
